Pride, A Deeper Love..
Pride, for me this year, was one of the most memorable in a long time. I had gone through a very difficult financial time, and I was not nominated for Best
Dressed in its category for another event, in spite of winning Best Dressed at the Ball a week earlier, and I went through rejection by some for literally being a dandy and "not belonging"
I know that I belong. My Resources page shows you all of the receipts that I historically, sartorially, and
experientially belong. I know that I have the chops to be Best Dressed; I mean, aside from The Ball on May 30, 2024, where I did win Best Dressed, my
Intro page shows you all of the receipts that I am not acting brand new at this dandy gig.
So with all of that in mind comes
Pride.
I put together an amazing but fun outfit, mostly black with pops of rainbow and rainbow
pastels, head to toe, for Flower Factory,
Uproar, and
TRADE. I reflected not only my pride in my identities and orientation, but
I also have pride in the ability to reflect who I am through my art for over 15 years (as of June 11, 2024) so effectively, so historically-based, and so
elegantly and beautifully.

And people like it..
I had fantastic memories of dancing, promenading, kissing hot young gay bartenders from Maryland's Eastern Shore while dressed up, and being around loving
friends who love, accept, and include me, as well as, for the most part, celebrate my art.
Aretha Franklin (may she rest in peace and power) would be proud (pun very much intended)
